Well done Guy's, A tough old bash that one is'nt it and an achievement in it's self just to get round and finish. Shame the weather was'nt at it's best for you as well, typical that one is'nt it. Having done this event 3 times on the trot I decided to give it a miss this year and trying to do a few new different one's, however the last 5 miles to finish of the Forest Of Dean Challenge takes some beating i.e. all flat out fast through the bends down to Monmouth where you forget about all the pain endured and end up with a smile on your face. Roll on sunny days. Bye for now, Big Ring |

one word for me to sum it up - pain! My legs I can hardly feel today, died a few times out there but kept at it and made it in the end. Some banter at the end from a few of us who did it, Tim Taylor, Richie, Nathan and Braders was about but he hadn't rode. Used his racking which worked out really well. I'm sure route was change a bit this yr, only 2 feeds as wellNo idea what I did it in but was slow. As they say 'no pain, no gain' so a good hard ride. And glad I made it up all climbs somehow. Think was just guts getting me up them and round as to fitness. Tom Knight 'Charles Darwin would be proud as always getting lost.' |

5hrs 42mins ride time for me today. Took the winter trainer because it felt like winter with all the wind and gravel. Thankfully not to much rain once I`d started but the roads were a right old mess in places. Still a big turnout and good atmosphere at the HQ.Realy hard ride with 16 climbs including the notorius Symonds Yat at about the 80 mile mark, evil buggers! Very well signed and organised, a great event I`m glad I did. Andy |
