Further to Lukes post I would like to thank him and Stu for towing me round most of the course. The time just goes to show what quality riders these two guys are. All I had to do really was hang on to their shirt tails! and boy it was quick with that tail wind!!

Just for the record my proper name is James Griffiths aka Giff or Giffer, not Paul Giffer as the result sheet says!! lol

Again well done to all the other teams who rode it was a good morning out.

Cheers

Giff

At least everyone suffered as much as me. i spent an hour and a half watching griffer seeminly cruise round (he was polite enough to say he suffered too, but i don't believe him).

Yes the wind on the way out was minging... but the tail wind back was worth it. I felt like Eddy Merckx coming back towards Peterchurch, we were motoring!

See you Thursday LukeB

Wow, that hurt.

just when you feel your gettin somewhere, you go for a ride with kiwi and richie lambert. blistering pace for 15 mile then i got a flat and made a shambled tube change.broke the valve. so it was a second change.( thanks kiwi for the tube) then 5 miles later i bonked. got pushed up one climb . which im sure i will never here the end of. semi recovered after 10 mins and the guys towed me home. they were so strong. thanks and sorry for being the weekest link. still achieved a 21+ average. so not all bad .

looking forward to thurs TT, for more suffering.

thanks again andy m and richie l.

Well today we were blessed wiith a dry bright morning, just proves you cant take any notice of the weather forecast.

A good turn out of Climb-On-Bikes CC riders, basically you each pay your £3 entry and get ready for some action and agony.

The COB over fifties team consisted of Dave Po, Tim T and myself, the cruising brigade. No assisted start for us lot, off we went and at the Clehonger turn it was straight into that nagging head wind and it took a mile or so before we got our act together working smoothly as a team. Tim was having a hard time on the flat into the wind but when it got hilly it was my turn at having a hard time. Clifford out of the way and coming through the Golden Valley we had a good spell at about 29mph. The rest of the ride we cranked on quite nicely to the end and clocked a time of 1hr 45min, 19.82 average (for a bunch of old farts we were quite happy with that, Tim and I agreed that Dave was the power house in our team and well done to him).

A brilliant ride was had by Luke M, Stu G and Giffer and they took the top spot, well done boys thats two years on the trot.

Must say that was a tough outing, it's a hard bash at the best of times and today the head breeze made even harder work of it.

Dave Po, Tom K and myself then rode off to Wormebridge for some refreshments at the cafe, Tom very kindly treated us to a coffee and a nice slab of cake. Then back on the bikes for the trip back home.

Total of 100km clocked today for Dave and myself.

Well done everyone.

Hi Matthew,

Basically the signing-on is at Allensmore Village hall (i.e. on the left a few miles out of Hereford on the main Abergavenny road. Not sure what the entry fee is but it's bound to be less than six quid. Helmet and gloves are advisable.

Andy Moxton is another one who said he may come along for something.

So there we go, I'm sure there will be a few teams looking for somebody to join them.

Bye for now,

Robin Wink

Hi Everyone,

Let's have yet another further update Smile.

The following teams have formed.

Luke M, Stu G and Giffer.

Ned P, Martin G and Paula M (hope these boys can keep up with Paula).

Luke B, Colin L and Dave W.

Robin, Dave Powell and Tim T (the over fifties brigade).

A few others have said they are interested i.e. Ritchie L, Vitali, Matt Allen and obvioulsy a few more names would be handy.

Obviously this event can also be ridden as a 2UP or Solo if you want to take part and have a ride.

Bye for now,

Robin Wink.

Hi Robin,

I've just logged back into this thread and seen that you've put me and Griffer down with Richie in a team. Since I posted on the 2nd March Griff and I have found a 3rd (confusingly its Giffer) so we're all partnered up.

Ritchie - sorry but since I didn't hear anything direct we just sorted a team. Hope that doesn't leave you stuck.

See everyone on Sunday.

Luke

Hi Everyone,

Dave Powell and myself battled the elements this morning and had a "pre-cruise" around the course.

Yes it was a wet start and we had a nasty nagging head wind near enough all the way round which made hard work of even a steady pace. Must say the road surface in a number of places are more like a ploughed field so our advice is keep your eyes open especially if your dragging out the best kit.

Hope we end up with a nice still day next weekend as head wind and uphill dont seem to go together well.

Bye for now,

Big Ring Wink.

Me, Grimer and Paula have decided to ride it. Were looking to win the mixed team award !!

What's with the cruise around Robin? It's a race, which entitles you to enter the pain cave, chewoff the handle bar tape, ache like hell and spew-up at least twice making sure to cover your team mates !! Thats team time trialling!

Ned

P.S. If your riding it Tom, checkthe route on a map first !!!Foot in mouth

Hi Everyone,

Let's have an update Smile.

It sounds like the fast team have sorted themselves out i.e. Luke M, Stu G and Ritchie L. Also another team have gathered i.e. Luke B, Colin L and Dave W.

So a few others have mentioned they are interested i.e. Dave Powell, Tim T, Vitali, Matt Allen and myself, obviously we need a few more so that some teams can be formed.

I'm just up for a cruise round along with Dave Powell, we wont be mega fast but also we wont be mega slow. So if somebody fancies joining our team just let us know.

A few more names need in the hat really, so come on guys.

Bye for now,

Robin Wink.

Amigo's

Mr Lambchop, Dave White and me El-chance are putting a team in for this event. Like the piss poor performance that Wales have displayed in this yrs 6 nations rugby, We're aiming for the wooden spoon.....

Richie Lambert and Matt Allen are up for entering this also.

So far (from this thread)we have enough for 3 teams. If any one else is interested please add your name to the list.

If your undecided hopefully this will swing it...Coffee and cake at tescos after the event.

Thank you please

El Chance

Hi Everyone,

The Hereford Wheelers 3UP Time Trial is on Sunday 28th March, it's a 35 mile rolling course and the ideal tool for the job is a standard road bike.

If anybody is interested put your name down and we'll see if we can match some teams together.

I'm not too serious about time trialling but will happily join in to make a team up. The good thing about this course and this distance is that it suits road riders quite well.

So if you fancy having a bash, stick your names down and then we can take it from there and see if we can get some teams together.

Bye for now,

Robin Wink
