Hi All Report from a dry and sunny and a extremely hard Mayhem, This year there was a few alterations to the normalish layout of the course, There seemed to be lots of climbing and little downhill. I was in a fun team of 4 that consisted of my 2 nephews and 1 of their work colleagues who had little experience of this kind of thing. But with a good pit crew to keep everyone going we were in for a interesting time. I had drawn the short straw and had the run, I did manage to get to the usual spot front row, Thinkin i'd better get going otherwise I'd be trampled. The run started at 2pm and was it fast!! I seem to forget. 5 minute sprint to start a 24 hr race, hard!!, I got back to the bike about 30th position and set off on my bike for the 1st lap feeling like I'd run to fast. After about 5minutes started to settle down, so the first lap was hard, The lads put in a fantastic effort throughout the 24 Hrs and kept going at a consistant pace throughout, Although the night was cold it was great to have a dry event. We finished in 93rd place which everything considered a great effort. Another great weekend at eastnor, Already looking forward to next year, Next 24hr race in July at the Bontrager 24/12 at Plymouth Gibbo |
