Well the ride into town this morning was a bit hampered by a head breeze but atleast it was dry despite the mixed forecast. Six of us today i.e. myself, Dave (DJ) Powell, Captain B, Tim W, Tim T and Simon W. The boys were all up for the proposed plan and off we went towards Munstone House, Lyde, Burghill, Tillington, Credenhill, Bishopstone, Bridge Sollers, Madley, Kingstone, Abbey Dore, back of the old SAS camp to Ewas Harold, Pontrilas, Kenchurch, Grosmont and a few mile out the otherside to our coffee stop at "Party Seal" which is a lovely country house and gardens. We arrived plonked ourselves in the garden and ordered coffee's and scones, shame it wasn't sunny as we sat there but you cant have everything at times, we downed the coffee and scoff and then off we went. At first everyone's leg were in shock on some of the drags but not before long there's some awesome fast downhill all the way to Skenfrith. Then it was the long drag up to Broad Oak and then we hooked a right to Welsh Newton (this had some tough uphill bits in it), at Welsh Newton it was down the road a bit and a left to Llangarron (the first bit is a steep bugger on tired legs) and then you get a few miles of fast down hill to Glewstone followed by a left in the village and on towards Peterstow and straight over towards Hoarwithy, Carey, Holme Lacy, Moriford. At this point Tim W, Tim T and Simon headed for town whilst Captain B, Dave and myself hooked a right towards Dormington. Then we split again i.e. Clive headed for Yarhill whilst Dave and myself headed back to my place at Withington. Well done boy's that seemed a tough ride but nice to see some newish ground, the head wind today certainly didn't help tired legs. Dave and myself clocked 105km (65 miles), my turn to give Dave a wheel a few times today and it was nice to return some of the help he's given me this year. Hi Guy's, Just an update after speaking to Captain B, Ive got a nice new route for us with a new coffee stop at Grosmont, it's a rolling 60 mile ride. The weather is supposed to be dry so we expect to see Tim W taking the Dog for a stroll. So if this is fine with everyone we'll give it a try. Bye for now, Big Ring Edited on 3rd July 2010 08:44 PM
