Well Dave P and Daz H (the arm chair twins Laughing), it was a bit of a faff tonight deciding on what to wear and which bike to use as the weather wasn't looking good and it could turn either way.

So I made my mind up and went for a long sleeve top and grabbed my trusty Trek with a rear mud guard and set off to Sutton and arrived there fine and dry.

Tonight there were five of us i.e. Tim T, Tim W, Simon W, Toby L and myself and we hung on until 6.40 incase anybody else was coming. Whilst were waiting the drizzle started and nobody else turned up so off we went to Marden, Westhope, Bush Bank, Weobley and at this point the drizzle increased a bit, Dilwyn, Ivington, Passa Lane, Leominster Southern Avenue, Stoke Prior, Risbury and now the rain started lashing down, Bodenham and back to Sutton. We arrive back here all soaking, Tim T cracked straight to town whilst Simon headed for Burghill, Tim headed for his motor and Toby's mum was there with the car to rescue her young man and I shot off homeward bound for a bit more of a soaking.

Must say I quite enjoyed the rain tonight, the good thing was it wasn't cold but it was quite windy. I clocked 63km and we had a nice steady stroll round trying to set a nice pace for Toby as it was his first Thursday ride with us.

Must say well done to Toby, he's a 14 year old young man and did really well on the first half and got a bit tired on the second half as can only be expected. A few more of these longer distance rides at a steady pace and he'll be fine with it and I recon he's going to develop into a real talented rider and it wont be long before he'll be dragging us lot round.

Well done Guy's and I'm sure we'll dry out, I certainly made the right choice tonight regarding kit and bike

Bye for now,

Big Ring Wink

Hi Guy's,

This Thursday 15th July an evening road ride for a couple of hours (that's providing it's not lashing down with rain !), i.e. 30 to 40 miles in distance on some nice country lanes.
The pace of these rides is around the 18mph average speed so a good level of cycling fitness is required to keep up, just so everyone knows it's not flat out fast but also it's not a novice pace.

Basically if your interested and fancy this meet at the Golden Cross Pub in Sutton St Nicholas at 6.30pm (the pub is in the centre of the village on the cross roads).

The evenings are now drawing in a bit so you may require some small lights for the ride home i.e. to be seen with.

Bye for now,

Robin.
