The Sonic road show continued on Sunday in a little hamlet know as Wales, Cowbridge. Travelled down & set up my stall. It was nice to see a fellow Climb on Bikes member at the Race, Although riding a Triumph Motorbike is surely a form of motorised cycling??? Even Cancellara would be proud of you Mr Perks!!

Lined up & off we went. 3 laps of the Cowbridge Circuit including "Death Valley". Felt ok & followed wheels for a while untill I reached the correct operating temperature. After 20 odd miles I was getting freasky (I'm going on the attack for the rest of the season as I've got nothing to loose). A few riders were really working hard at the front & had everyone lined out. As soon as they easied up I carried on, not really attacking but kept the pace. I went clear & put my head down, smashing out 53x12. I looked behind & 2 riders had decided it would be nice to make a threesom. I easied up to allow them to catch me. We worked well for about 6 miles & then were caught.

It was abit like this for a while, attack, come back, attack come back. On the last lap you could see people were getting tired & I stayed at the sharp end. I'd decided it was going to be a sprint finish & to save my energy.

I took up a good place for the finish, which was pan flat & a proper sprint. As we turned of the main road for the finish it was a left, right before the dead straight sprint. I made the left & got totally cut up on the right & was almost in the hedge (how hard is it to ride around a corner, Cav). I put my head down & got 14th.

2 more points, 53 now.

I felt knackered at the end 24.something av/sp. I saw Mr Perks afterwards & he looked fine, Triumph's all round I say????
