Firstly here's a story of my Saturday afternoon, our Harry comes out with "can we put the tent up in the garden dad ?", so ok anything for a peaceful life that's what we did. Then it's mum and dad "can we have tea in the tent ?",so I went and got a Thai take away and we did the tent thing again. Then it's mum and "dad can we sleep in the tent ?", mummy was not having any of this so it was down to me to reluctantly agree. So after a night of hardly any sleep and crippling backache it's Sunday morning ride time, hum ! talk about not feeling good from the start. Anway on the winter bike as it looked like rain and off to town straight into a nagging head wind. Quite a few of local riders arrived to day i.e. about atleast 15 of us, Tim W and I had a quick think and we thought a coffee stop at Eardisland Tea Gardens maybe a good idea, everyone seemed ok with that and some said they would come with us to Eardisland and carry on. So off we went out to Munstone House, Sutton, Bodenham, Risbury (a real nice steady pace on the climb), Stoke Prior, Leominster Southern Avenue, Passa Lane, Ivington and a right and out to the far end of the Cannon Pyon Road and the slip lane and straight over towards Pembridge, a right lane to Eardisland and our tea stop. Six of us piled into the Tea Gardens i.e. myself, Tim W, Andy M, Martin H, Nick from Westhide, Luke (shorts anytime of the year young feller) and Ross Dimmock (Ross is a sixteen year old young man and it was his first Sunday ride with us). A nice cup of coffee (could have done with another three of these to relieve my jaded state), plenty of chat and banter plus a few thought's about the second half. I suggested the nice array of lanes heading for Weobley and the troups were happy with that and off we went towards Broxwood, Weobley, Bush Bank, at this point Andy headed for Cannon Pyon whilst the rest of us went to Westhope, Wellington, at this point Martin headed home whilst the rest of us headed for Marden, Sutton, Eau Withington. Tim, Luke and Ross headed for town whilst Nick and myself headed for Withington and homeward bound. Well done Guys that was a nice ride apart from the head wind but atleast it didn't rain, I had a couple of weak spells at Broxwood and had to ram a couple of gels down me and was okish after that. A big well done to young Ross as he managed the ride without any trouble. Some strong front end work by Tim and Andy on the way back, well done boys. Bye for now, Big Ring P.S. Now off to an afternoon tea party, feel more like going for a lye down, and no not in the tent !. Edited on 19th July 2010 04:34 PM
