2. Climb on Bikes Club Accounts
Hand over of the accounts from Helen Beacon to our new treasurer Stu Southan. Current balance £1283.41. £650 was also raised from the Ludlow triathlon 2007, this will be deposited into the account as well. Clive Beacon and Phil Mason are currently signatories for the club accounts. Stu Southan will be added to this next week.

3. Climb on Bikes Club Affiliations
Previous affiliations for 2007 included BCF, RTTC, WCA, BTA & Welsh CX Association.
The committee agreed to affiliations for 2008 to include: BCF, WCA & RTTC (Phil & Paula).
Questions were raised as to what we got as a club and individuals for affiliation to the BTA, and Welsh CX Association. Mike Stephens agreed to look into this and feed back to us for the next meeting.
BCF affiliation: Club colours and sponsors of the COB Club for 2008 (Phil & Paula).
The RTTC handbook will be available to individual members to order via the website £7. A copy will also be available in COB shop.

4. Membership
Kate Wheeler asked if the membership form could be on the website for members to download. Tony agreed to this.
It was discussed that it would be easier if membership ran from January to January (rather than the current 12 months). This will be discussed at the next meeting.
It was agreed that club membership cards and BC licences should be collected from the shop.

5. Dates for Diary

1. COB races/cyclo-sportives
A few suggestions were made about events. It was decided that all committee members will email events (competitive and non-competitive) to Luke (by reply) and Tony will put them on the COBCC website and a list will be available in the shop. Other members can add to the list by emailing Tony (see website).

2. COB road race, triathlon and reliability ride.
Road Race. Planned date of COB RR is 18th of May. Phil suggested a new route nr. Kington (3 x 20 mile laps). (Phil and Mick). All members, please leave this date free for Marshalling – this raises money for the club. Thanks!
Reliability ride. Clive will give date within the next week and plan a new route (Clive & Robin). It was agreed to increase the entry by £1 (to £3) with the extra pound going to charity. It was also discussed that it would be sensible to split the ride into smaller groups, each led by a COBCC member. This would increase road safety. Update: Clive has since given a date of Sunday 17th Feb, leave the shop at ~9.30. They’ll be two separate groups. Entry £3 (£1 to charity).
Triathlon. Last Sunday in September (28th). Again, if possible, leave this date free and support your club by marshalling.

3. Wheelers time trials. These have been very popular over the last couple of years. Mick agreed to investigate the dates.

4. Mountain Mayhem Mick suggested that we started to think about teams for Mayhem. Luke agreed to post a thread on the forum where people could show their interest.

5. Saturday Rides. These start 10 am from the shop and run every Saturday. It was agreed these were a great idea. Emphasis on participation not speed. Robin will lead the ride fortnightly and Clive has offered to send someone from the shop to support.

6. Climb On Bikes Cycling Club Website (www.cobcc.co.uk)

This website address is now owned by the club (kindly sponsored by CSS Computer Supplies (Thanks Tony!)). The website is currently managed and maintained by Tony. There was a lot of positive feedback, especially the forum.

It was agreed that we would promote the website as a form of communication (so check it now!).

7. Social Events

Ben suggested a curry night, bowling, go-karting or a ropes course. He reminded everyone about the Elan Valley road ride and the Snowdon MTB trips he’s planning in Feb. Keep an eye on the website.

8. Club Social (8pm Friday 22nd Feb @ Hereford Rowing Club)

It was agreed to hold a social at the rowing club (subject to confirmation of booking) at 8pm on 22/02/08. Clive to make booking (and negotiate price!).

9. Next meeting (7pm Friday 22nd Feb @ Hereford Rowing Club)

It was agreed to hold the next meeting prior to the social. Meet at 6:45, start at 7.00 pm prompt.
