Please contact Luke or Paula Moseley if you are interested.
8. Membership Update (Kate Wheeler) 65 COB members to date. We have email contacts of most members, but we are missing a few. Please could all members check that they have given us their email address. Email and COB CC website is our main form of correspondence. If you have not been receiving emails please send your contact details to Luke Moseley.
9. COB Road Race 2009 (Phil Mason & Mike Stephens) We are planning to organise the COB RR closer to Hereford in 2009. 2 race circuits have been proposed and we await approval from the West Mercia Police. These include a circuit North of the River heading towards Burley Gate and back through Sutton St Nicholas, or South of the river heading towards Brewardine and back through the Golden Valley. Alex Haines at the Leisure centre has kindly offered use of their facilities for a fee, so this may be used as our head quarters. Committee members are also investigating the use of Sutton St Nicholas Village hall, or Kingstone school. The race will be open to 2/3/4th cats and we hope that a large number of our own COB members and local cyclists will be racing!
Of course we will also be needing marshals on the day, but this time it will be local. So if you are not racing then please come along & marshal to support your club and people racing! A date for the event will be decided next year.
10. COB Marshalling Kit (Mike Stephens) Mike Stephens has received several quotes for marshalling safety vests with COB and Marshall printed on front & back. We have suggested a budget of £150. He has agreed to spend up to this amount on equipping the club with safety equipment.
11. Reliability Ride February 2009 (Clive & Robin) It was decided that the COBCC ride in February 2009 will be an organised Reliability Ride instead of a Cyclosportive. Unfortunately, it was felt that time was a limiting factor in organising a successful Cylcosportive. This will be revisited again in 2010. 12. Treasures’ Update (Stu Southan) The COB Club currently have £2957.14 in their account. ~£500 has been budgeted for the velodrome, ~£350 for the Xmas meal and £150 for marshalling and safety kit. 13. Social Events (Ben Dale) Go-Karting at Weobley on 12th Oct 2008 at 2pm. Ben Dale has kindly organised a COB Go Karting session cost ~£40. If you are interested please contact Ben via the forum, or email or phone. He will need to know number ASAP.
14. AOB COB Club Kit & sponsorship. The new club kit will be decided by the committee for 2009. The general appearance/design will remain the same and approval will be needed from committee and Clive/Helen. Sponsors kindly donate money to the club and are advertised on our team strip. It was highlighted that the Club would benefit from a PR person to promote the club locally and to generate more sponsorship (note: it costs £30 to add new sponsors to the kit and monies would need to reflect this). If anyone would be interested in this role please contact Luke Moseley
Easter Training Camp in Mallorca. Luke & Paula Moseley are going on a training cycling camp from 10/4/09 to 19/4/09. A lot of cyclists will be going so there will be a variety of abilities. If you book through the same agent guided group rides will be included in the cost, plus hotel half board and transfers. If you are interested contact Luke or Paula Moseley.
Luke Moseley is currently collecting any old cycling kit for young riders at his School. Any old unwanted cycling kit & shoes will be gratefully received. Thanks
